As part of his final psychotherapy treatment, a mental patient is allowed to return to the basement of his deserted childhood home, so he can face his fears involving the death of his younger brother. Or to put it more bluntly, it's about a demonic creature that bites your penis off.

2015 Horrible Imaginings Short Film: El Gigante!

After attempting to cross the US/Mexico border in search of a better life, Armando (Edwin Perez) awakens in an unknown room, his body broken down and a Lucha Libre mask sewn into his neck. He attempts to escape, but is surrounded by a sadistic family, who watch him with hungry eyes. The only chance for Armando’s survival in this hellish nightmare is to last in a wrestling match against the most terrifying villain of all: GIGANTE!

Director Gigi Saul Guerrero is also one of the directors of the Mexico Barbaro anthology feature, which is screening on Friday, September 11th. She will also be part of the "Rise of Mexican Horror Panel that night. Don't miss them!

Director Bio: Gigi Saul Guerrero

Born and raised in Mexico City, Mexico, Gigi moved to Vancouver B.C., where she graduated with honors her B.A. in Motion Picture Production at Capilano University's "Bosa Centre for Film and Animation".

Now in her early 20's, her recent successes include the short film Dia De Los Muertos, which has received awards internationally, including the United Kingdom, Mexico, and Canada. Now her short film is being part of something much bigger "Mexico Barbaro", a Mexican horror anthology. She also directed M is for Matator, which is officially a part of the ABC's of Death 2.5, and has been screened in festivals from USA to Mexico to Japan! Now Guerrero is working with horror novelist Shane McKenzie on a new Mexican Horror film "El Gigante". Guerrero made a stamp in the horror community by recreating the original Evil Dead into 60 Seconds for a local contest, and was featured on sites such as Bloody Disgusting, Buzzfeed, and JoBlo.com. Gigi also had a hand at redefining the horror genre by co-creating the audience-interactive Web Series Choose Your Victim. The past year has been a busy one for Gigi, as she co-founded the production company Luchagore Productions with fellow filmmakers Luke Bramley and Raynor Shima. Along with their many projects, they also received some air-time on television by shooting a commercial spot for Fright Nights, a local horror attraction in partnership with Playland/PNE.

Born on February 14, 1978, in Barcelona (Spain). With experience as a writer of film analysis articles for various film press until 2008. Graduate in film direction, screenplay and production for Bande a Part Cinema School of Barcelona in 2011. "Refugio 115" was my first professional short film in 35mm, after leading advertising spots for other events such as the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival 2010. “Refugio 115” was selected in more than 200 film festivals and wons more than 30 awards (two times nominated as Best European Short Film at Melies d’Argent Award). “Mr.Dentonn” is my second short film.
