Bryan Wolford: Horrible Imaginings Film Makers Roll Call

Horrible Imaginings Film Makers Roll Call!

Bryan WolfordBryan Wolford, director of Shadows

I've loved movies for as long as I can remember. I love the magic of being transported to a world where anything is possible. I finally stepped my toe in the water with my first short film Shadows, which was based on a short story I wrote years ago. Being on set was exhilarating and I've been addicted ever since. I also help run the podcast Drunken Zombie where we review horror films and, through that, we started our own film festival where we showcase independent horror films. I'm trying to be involved in as many aspects of movies as I can.

Shadows was based on a short story that I had published a few years ago, and the general idea was to tap into that sort of fear we all have as kids that something is lurking under our beds. That feeling that your parents don't believe you and what would happen if it turns out there actually was something under your bed. We shot it over two days, and it turned out better than I could have hoped. I got a great cast and a great crew and we were able to really bring the idea to life. I've gotten some remarks of how it looks like a latex fetish video which I didn't even think about when we were filming. I think it plays to those childhood fears really well.
