Looking back, I can think of two things that are to blame for turning me into the horror nerd I am today: Joe Bob Briggs’ Monster-Vision and horror anthology shows like Are You Afraid of the Dark, the Twilight Zone, and the Outer Limits. A Matter of Trust is my attempt to capture the spirit of the latter. It’s a simple story: A guy comes home to an hysterical girlfriend who tells him she fought something and locked it in the bathroom. He asks what it was, then hears his girlfriend’s voice coming from the bathroom, telling him not to trust the thing standing in front of him. And then we’re off and running.
