I wanted to make a film both nostalgic for my childhood in the 1990s, and entertaining and relevant to me as an adult. “The Whisperers” is first and foremost a fun throwback to the scary stories I enjoyed as a child, but it is also story about how our childhood shapes us, in ways we like and in ways we cannot change.
